WHAT IS  ALPHA ALL ABOUT?

What's the point of life?

What happens when we die?

Is forgiveness possible?

What relevance does Jesus have for our lives today?

More than a million people all over the world have completed the Alpha course during the last six years in churches, homes, schools, universities and prisons. Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non- threatening setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with an optional day away. It is low-key, friendly and fun - and is supported by all the main Christian denominations. There will almost certainly be a course running near you. Why not take this opportunity to find out?

ALPHA AT SPBC

These free courses are being run regularly by South Parade Baptist Church. The general format of the 10 Monday evening sessions starts with a free meal at 7pm and is followed by a talk on an issue such as "who is Jesus?" or "why did Jesus die?". This is followed by coffee and an opportunity to discuss in small groups the issues raised with other people who are also seeking to know more. Listen, learn, discuss and discover. And ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.

WHO IS ALPHA FOR?

  • Those wanting to investigate Christianity
  • New Christians
  • Newcomers to the Church
  • Those who want to brush up on the basics
