FRIDAY NIGHTS (11-18s)
|
| |
|
| Rocksolid |
|
| |
|
 |
This is a fast moving programme developed by Youth for Christ, designed to meet the needs and tastes of non-Christian 11-14 year olds. South Parade runs two Rock Solid Clubs, one at Headingley and one at Cragg Hill, Horsforth.
Friday nights at Cragg Hill are packed with games, discussions, regular “chill out” nights and special events. The club was set up in 2002 and numbers regularly hit 30-50 young people each week.
The club at Headingley is for 11-18 year olds and offers basketball, pool, PS2, chatting, discussions and group games. Numbers regularly reach 25-30 young people. |

|
| Liquid |
|
| |
|
 |
Launched in September 2005, Liquid is run at Cragg Hill for young people in Year 10 and above, as a follow up to Rock Solid.
15 young people (approx) meet every week from 8.30-10pm to chill out, play pool, chat, discuss relevant issues and build relationships. Liquid also organise regular special events and trips. |

|
| Farsley Youth Development Project |
| |
FYDP is a partnership project that aims to create opportunities to support young people in Farsley, in their social, emotional and spiritual development.
FYDP is in weekly contact with 15-30 young people on the streets of Farsley. The team is regularly out on Friday nights. There is also a mid-week lads group.
FDYP recently purchased a double decker bus, which has been gutted out to make a fun, safe space. The aim is to use the facility for a wide range of activities, including mobile youth club, parenting classes, after school clubs and mobile café.

| SOUTH PARADE YOUTH CELLS |
| |
| Leeds Youth Cells Network (LYCN) |
| |
South Parade youth cells are part of the Leeds Youth Cells Network (LYCN). The Network is invaluable for enabling young people to meet with others from across the city, broadening their experiences and understanding as Christians in the wider world.
The vision of LYCN is to see a relevant, Christ-centred youth work within walking distance of every young person in Leeds. Central to this vision is to equip and release young people in Leeds for the strengthening of the body of Christ in the city, allowing young people to have their identity in both their local congregation and the citywide ‘Church of Leeds’. |
| |
 |
South Parade Cells meet in Adel and Headingley. A good number of South Parade young people also meet in cells in Horsforth, which are mixed with young people from other Church backgrounds. All are very much part of the wider youthwork ministry at South Parade. |
| |
| The structure of South Parade Youth Cells |
| |
Each cell is a small group and is peer-led, empowering young people to explore leadership abilities and responsibility.
All South Parade youth cells have adult supervisors whose primary role is to ensure the peer leaders are well supported. In turn, the young leaders and supervisors are supported through regular meetings, feedback, training and provision of resources. Around 60 young people are connected into these cells. |
| |
| 'Cell Altogethers' |
| |
| These give opportunity for all the South Parade young people involved in cells to meet together for worship, to share stories, prayer and to meet together socially. They take place at Headingley every six weeks during term time. |
| |
| LYCN events |
| |
Leeds Youth Cells Network also provides training and support for leaders, regular city-wide worship events called Celebrations, and mission opportunities – ‘Demonstrate’ days and Residential weeks. Further information

30-40 young people regularly attend Sunday morning groups. |
| |
| EVENTS & TRIPS |
| |
 |
Special events, trips and residentials are a regular and important part of the youthwork and ministry at South Parade. They are very often key times of relationship building and deepening faith. |
| |
| The Max |
| |
This is a termly, Friday night event for 11-15s in and around Leeds. Action packed with interactive games, dance, bands and other entertainment, it is followed by a youth café. There is normally an opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel.

The conference offers the young people a chance to be part of a nationwide event that attracts people of all ages. There is a wide choice of age specific, or all inclusive, seminars and worship events to join in with, as well as plenty of opportunity to relax and have fun. |
